After Night of the Living Dead, after 10 years, comes the second chapter of zombie trilogy, directed by George A. Romero: Dawn of the Dead. The film is a masterpiece of horror cinema. George Romero, helped by Dario Argento in the guise of co-screenwriter of the film and the soundtrack composed by Goblin (the group which, Dario Argento often relies on the soundtrack of his films) and the special effects created by Tom Savini, make Dawn of the Dead a film absolutely a must for all fans of the genre. The world is in chaos. Scientists, politicians and journalists try to discuss, often getting lost in useless talk, to find a solution to the virus that is infecting the human race, turning the zombies hungry and fierce. A girl and her boyfriend, along with two surveillance agents, after flying over the city by helicopter, and noting the very serious situation that surrounds them (the virus did not spare even the adjacent areas of town and country) seek refuge in the wingless tettro a shopping mall. George Romero points out the figure of the shopping mall as a place and symbol of capitalism and consumism to which even the dead can not do without. The survivors must also contend with a group of Bykers (with Tom Savini in part one) which further worsen the situation, letting the zombies in the shopping mall. The version of this DVD is distributed by XT Video, in Hard-Box case (Cover "C"), containing 2 DVDs, one of which is the Extended Version and a DVD full of extras such as Behind the Scenes, Memorabilia, photos and notes on film.
